If you live in Acworth and want to plan the next seven weeks, start by asking where each event takes place. The date matters less. From this Saturday's car cruise through the last farmers market on November 14, most of the city calendar runs out of Logan Farm Park at 4405 Cherokee Street. On December 4 the season moves into Historic Downtown, to the Plaza behind Henry's, Depot Park and Main Street, and it stays there through the parade on December 16.
A 175-year-old farmhouse sits right where those two halves meet, and it's the newest landmark in town.
The House at the Park Entrance
The McCray House was built around 1851 and recently moved to the entrance of Logan Farm Park. Atlanta News First reported that it originally stood at 4700 Allatoona Gateway, about a thousand feet from where it is now. It was one of the few buildings in Acworth that survived when Sherman's troops came through. The same report says moving it to 4415 Cherokee Street cost about $1.2 million. The money came from the city's budget for historic buildings, including SPLOST dollars. Mayor Tommy Allegood told the station what the site looked like before the park was built:
"Ten years ago, there was nothing here. It was a big swamp."
The house is being turned into Bizarre Coffee's fourth location. The chain already runs shops in Canton, Woodstock and Roswell. Owner Sabrina Kaylor signed a 10-year lease with five-year renewal options. The renovation keeps the flooring and some of the exterior walls. "I love these historic spaces that we get to occupy," Kaylor told Atlanta News First.
The opening target in July was October 1. As of mid-October, Bizarre Coffee's Acworth page still calls the shop "COMING SOON" and doesn't list hours or a new date. If you're counting on a latte before the car cruise, check that page first. For now the house is a building to look at, and the coffee isn't there yet.
Halloween Weekend Belongs to the Park
The handoff runs on a schedule, and this weekend is the start of it.
Friday, October 30 has two things going on. The final Friday session of the Acworth Farmers Market runs 8 a.m. to noon at Logan Farm Park. That afternoon, Safe-O-Ween runs from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Acworth Police Department. The city calls it an annual event. It's the one stop this weekend that isn't at the park.
Saturday, October 31 brings the Fall Downtown Classic Car Cruise back to Logan Farm Park from 2 to 7 p.m. It's free to attend. The city asks drivers who show a vehicle for a $5 entry fee. The cruise starts after the Saturday market closes at noon, so one trip to Cherokee Street can cover the market in the morning and the cars in the afternoon.
November Is When the Park Winds Down
The park's calendar gets shorter one event at a time in November, and the farmers market is the clearest example. The Saturday market keeps its 8 a.m. to noon hours, but the city lists no market on Saturday, November 7, and the season's last Saturday is November 14. That leaves two Saturdays of market after Halloween. If a vendor's jam or sourdough is part of your weekly routine, plan to stock up on the 14th.
The two remaining November events aren't at the park.
- Veterans Day Ceremony, Wednesday, November 11, 2 to 3 p.m., at the Veterans Memorial in Cauble Park. It's an hour-long ceremony in the middle of a weekday, so retirees, remote workers and anyone who can take a long lunch will find it easiest to attend.
- Acworth Turkey Chase, Saturday, November 21, 7:30 to 10:30 a.m. The 5K runs through Historic Downtown Acworth and along Lake Acworth.
The Turkey Chase is the first event of the season that uses downtown streets instead of the park lawn. It falls one week after the last market Saturday, and it's the first sign that the season is moving toward Main Street.
December Moves Into Historic Downtown
Once Santa shows up, almost everything happens in Historic Downtown. Here are the confirmed December dates in order:
- Santa's Arrival, Friday, December 4. The page header blocks out 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., but the description says festivities begin at 6:00, Santa arrives at 6:30, and free photos with Santa start at 6:45. Mayor Allegood reads The Night Before Christmas, and the tree is lit on the Plaza behind Henry's. No photographer will be on site, so bring your own camera. NorthStar Church is the city's partner for the evening.
- Christmas in Acworth with Santa, Saturday, December 5, 1 to 5 p.m., at Depot Park. The photos are free here too, and you bring the camera. This is the afternoon option if the Friday-night crowd and the 6:45 photo line don't work for your family.
- Breakfast with the Grinch, Saturday, December 12, 9 to 11 a.m., at the Acworth Community Center, 4361 Cherokee Street. You have to register, and space is limited. The flyer on the event page still shows last year's date, so go by the December 12, 2026 date in the page text.
- Christmas in Acworth Horse and Carriage Rides, Saturday, December 12, 1 to 5 p.m. Free rides go through Historic Downtown. Santa won't be there for photos this time.
- Light Up Main Parade, Wednesday, December 16, starting at 6 p.m. This is a PTV parade through downtown, and anyone who wants to be in it has to register with the city.
December 12 has two events that are easy to link up. The Grinch breakfast takes place on Cherokee Street, a short walk down from Logan Farm Park, in the morning. The carriage rides start downtown after lunch. Families who registered for the breakfast can spend the whole day in Acworth and see both halves of the season.
Where to Sit Down Between Stops
Three places that opened in 2026 split along the same lines as the calendar. One is on Cherokee Street near the park, and two are on South Main Street.
| Stop | Address | Opened | Best paired with |
|---|---|---|---|
| TapTown | 4443 Cherokee Street | Grand opening ribbon cutting May 8, 2026 | Car cruise, Saturday markets |
| Firefly Table | 4417 South Main Street | January 2026 | Santa's Arrival, Light Up Main |
| Dockside Nutrition | 4606 South Main Street | Grand opening January 23, 2026 | Turkey Chase morning |
The City of Acworth describes TapTown as a gathering place for craft beer and chef-crafted food. It sits on the same block of Cherokee Street as the park, so it works for the October and November events. Firefly Table takes reservations and online orders. That helps on December 4, when Main Street fills up for the tree lighting. The Chant reported that Dockside Nutrition held a soft launch in the first weeks of January before its January 23 grand opening. It's an easy stop after the Turkey Chase wraps up downtown.
Once Bizarre Coffee opens in the McCray House, the park end of Cherokee Street will have its own morning stop to go with TapTown in the afternoon. The calendar doesn't depend on it, but the date is worth watching.
Three Things to Do This Week
- Write down November 14. It's the last Saturday market of the season, and there's no market the Saturday before.
- Register early for December 12. Breakfast with the Grinch has limited space and requires registration. Parade entries for December 16 also have to be registered.
- Charge a camera for December 4 and 5. Both Santa events offer free photos, and neither has a photographer on site.
For anything else, the city's Parks and Recreation office is at 770-917-1234.
People ask Stephanie Turner Lee about Acworth more often than you'd expect, including which side of downtown is best on a December Friday or which Cherokee Street blocks stay quiet during the car cruise. If questions like those are part of how you're thinking about your next home, or the one you already live in, schedule a free consultation and we'll talk through it street by street.
